1763 MicroLogix 1100 Controllers

With online editing and a built-in 10/100 Mbps EtherNet/IP port for peer-to-peer messaging, the MicroLogix 1100 controller adds greater connectivity and application coverage to the MicroLogix family of Allen-Bradley controllers. This next generation controller's built-in LCD screen displays controller status, I/O status, and simple operator messages; enables bit and integer manipulation; offers digital trim pot functionality, and a means to make operating mode changes (Prog / Remote / Run).

With 10 digital inputs, 2 analog inputs and 6 digital outputs, the MicroLogix 1100 can handle a wide variety of tasks. The MicroLogix 1100 controllers also support expansion I/O. Up to four 1762 I/O modules (also used on the MicroLogix 1200 and 1400) may be added to the embedded I/O, providing application flexibility and support of up to 80 digital I/O.

1762 MicroLogix 1200 Controllers

The MicroLogix 1200 is filled with features and options designed to handle extensive range of applications.

Available in 24 and 40-point versions, the I/O count can be expanded using rackless I/O modules. This results in larger control systems, greater application flexibility and expandability at a lower cost and reduced parts inventory.

A field-upgradeable flash operating system ensures you will always be up-to-date with the latest features, without having to replace hardware. The controller can be easily updated with the latest firmware via a web site download.

 

MicroLogix 1200R Controllers

The MicroLogix 1200R controller has the following additional functionality and benefits.

  • Programming/Human Machine Interface (HMI) port in addition to the Channel 0 port — provides an inexpensive means of providing an extra port that can be used for programming using a personal computer with Rockwell Software RSLogix 500 software, or connecting an operator interface device to your controller
  • Reduced system cost — enables users to directly connect a local HMI, allowing the other port to be used for networking, modem connection, programming and other devices
  • Requires no configuration — DF1 Full Duplex port that has the same parameters as Channel 0 when it is in its "Default Comms" configuration
  • Respond Only — Messaging is not available; it communicates by responding to communications initiated from the device attached to it

The Allen-Bradley® MicroLogix™ 1400 from Rockwell Automation complements the existing MicroLogix family of small programmable logic controllers. Choice of Controllers
     The SLC 500 line offers a range of choices in memory, I/O capacity, instruction set, and communication ports to allow you to tailor a control system to your exact application requirements. These products have a strong reliability history covering hundreds of thousands of installations in a broad range of applications.

  • SLC 5/01

The SLC 5/01 processors let you configure modular controllers of up to 960 I/O and a 1K- or 4K-instruction memory capacity.

  • SLC 5/02

The SLC 5/02 processors let you configure modular controllers of up to 4096 inputs plus 4096 outputs nominally and a 4K-instruction memory. By installing an optional scanner module into one of the 30 I/O module slots, you can add Remote I/O or DeviceNet I/O to the system. They offer 19 additional instructions, including a message instruction for initiating peer-to peer communication.

  • SLC 5/03

The SLC 5/03 processors let you configure modular controllers of up to 4096 inputs plus 4096 outputs and a memory of 8K or 16K words. In addition to the features of the SLC 5/02, they have a second built-in communication port — an RS-232-C port that can be configured for ASCII or DF1 protocol, and can be configured for connection to a 1761-NET-AIC converter to provide access to a DH-485 network. SLC 5/03 processors provide bit-instruction execution times of 0.44ms and an overall system throughput of up to 10 times faster than competitive processors. Additional capabilities include: floating-point math, online programming and run-time editing, flash memory upgrades, built-in key-switch, and a built-in real-time clock and calendar.

  • SLC 5/04

The SLC 5/04 processors let you configure modular controllers of up to 4096 inputs plus 4096 outputs and a memory of either 16K, 32K, or 64K words. They have all the features of the SLC 5/03 processors, plus a faster communication port and shorter execution times (bit-instruction execution times of 0.37ms). Instead of a DH-485 port, the SLC 5/04 has a built-in DH+ port for communication with other SLC 5/04 and PLC processors, operator interfaces, and programming terminals. Communication via the DH+ network is three times faster than DH-485 communication.

  • SLC 5/05

Functional Design
     PLC-5 processors are available in a large range of forcible I/O (512 maximum through 3072 maximum) and maximum user memory (6K through 100K words). All are capable of controlling remotely-located I/O. The maximum number of I/O locations ranges from 5 through 125.

Mechanical Design

The PLC-5 processors are single-slot modules that you place into the left-most slot of a 1771 I/O chassis. Some 1771 I/O chassis are built for back-panel mounting and some are built for rack mounting. The 1771 I/O chassis is available in sizes of 4, 8, 12, or 16 I/O module slots. The 1771 I/O modules are available in densities of 8, 16, or 32 I/O per module.

Controller

CompactLogix controllers integrate easily with other members of the Logix family of controllers and are programmed using RSLogix 5000, just like other members of the Logix controller family. So, if you are also running ControlLogix, you can easily duplicate and scale existing programs to run on CompactLogix.

CompactLogix networked controllers integrate an EtherNet/IP or ControlNet connection and are designed to meet the challenge of demanding applications. The CompactLogix EtherNet/IP family of controllers includes the 1769-L23E, 1769-L35E and the 1769-L32E. The CompactLogix ControlNet family of controllers includes the 1769-L35CR and the 1769-L32C.

 

Standalone Controllers

CompactLogix is also ideal for systems that require standalone control. For cost-effective sequential and process machine control applications, consider the 1769-L23 family of packaged controllers or 1769-L31 controllers. For low-axis count motion control applications, consider the 1768-L43 (up to 4 axes) or the 1768-L45 (up to 8 axes).

• User memory ranges from 2 to 32 MB, depending on controller type.

ControlLogix Communication Modules

• Options include: EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway Plus, Remote I/O, Foundation Fieldbus, Serial, DH-485, and SynchLink.
• Install multiple communication-interface modules into the ControlLogix backplane to configure a gateway to bridge or route control and information data between different networks.
